How to Remove Blackheads

Practical Tips for Blemish-Free Skin

If you are in search of tips on how to get rid of blackheads, and or how to remove blackheads that may already be there, the ideal way to start is to know what causes them. Blackheads forms when the skin’s oil-producing glands produce too much oil (sebum) and clog the pores. When exposed to air, sebum along with dead skin cells, begins to oxidize, begins to discolor and turn black, which results in blackheads. There are many ways to get rid of blackheads; a few are listed below.

Squeeze out the blackheads. The first step is to exfoliate the skin to remove dead skin cells and expose the blackheads. Then place a warm compress on your face for about 10-15 minutes to loosen the skin and make the blackheads easier to remove. Using your clean pointer fingers, gently apply pressure to both sides of the blackhead and push it out of your skin.

Use creams. Alpha Hydroxy Fruits Acids (AHA) creams are known to clear away dead skin cells and expose blackheads.

Use lime juice. One practical way on how to get rid of blackheads is to make a lotion that includes lime juice, almond oil, and glycerin. By applying it to your face, you are effectively removing blackheads as well as discoloration spots.

Honey is also very effective in removing blackheads. All you need to do is to apply it on the troubled area and then wash off your face after 10-15 minutes. You can also combine one teaspoon of honey with a beaten egg white. Then, using a cotton swab, apply it to your face and then leave for it for 30 minutes. Then, rinse with warm water and pat dry. To remove the blackheads, rub some cooking oil on your face, grab a cloth and rub it off.

Olive oil has also been known to be effective for removing blackheads. First, you have to rinse your face with warm water. This allows your pores to open. Then, wet a section of washcloth with olive oil or almond oil. Dab some toothpaste (not the gel type) on the part where there is oil. With a gentle motion, rub it thoroughly over your nose. If you have lots of blackheads, do the process twice. You can also massage it on your whole face if you want to, taking care to add more oil or toothpaste if needed. Wait for a few minutes before rinsing your face with warm water and patting it dry with a clean washcloth.

Steam and moisturizer are effective ways to get rid of blackheads. Put a warm compress on your face for about ten minutes. This will allow the blackheads to come to the skin surface. Then, wash your face with warm water and a non-comedogenic face wash. Close your pores by washing your face with cold water. Then, apply an oil free moisturizer.

Tomatos can also remove those nasty blemishes off your skin. Cut the tomatoes to cover the curves of your nose and face. Wash your face with warm water then dry it up using a clean towel. Place two tomatoes where your blackheads are and leave for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with warm water and let stand for a few minutes after drying up before putting on moisturizer.

Hopefully the tips mentioned above will be helpful to you in your quest to get rid of blackheads.
